Why did you choose UNC for fellowship?
Immediately after my UNC interviews, I knew I would rank the program first. The faculty were so welcoming, the fellows had nothing but good things to say, and I was confident that my niche interest (correctional hospice/palliative care) would be supported. Having now met everyone in person and gotten my first taste of the fellowship, I definitely made the right choice!

What are you looking forward to most about this year?
Working with an interdisciplinary team; returning to an academic environment after several years working for a government agency; getting to know patients and their loved ones, and learning how to best care for and support them during the most vulnerable times of their lives.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The ability to speak to animals
