The UNC Office of Global Health is now accepting applications for the competitive 2021 Resident Global Health Scholars Program.

The UNC Office of Global Health Education, in conjunction with UNC Office of Graduate Medical Education and UNC School of Medicine, is pleased to announce the UNC Global Health Scholars Program is welcoming new scholars. Residents/Fellows who complete all Global Health Scholars Program requirements will receive an OGHE/Office of GME certificate upon graduation from residency.

Timeline: Application must be submitted online via Qualtrics and the applicant’s deadline is firmly April 1, 2021. Two letters of support must be submitted through the online portal firmly by April 15. Applications are reviewed and decisions are announced via email by May 1. Selected scholars accept and agree to a program start date of July 1st  of the same application year.

Funding: Two annual award stipends of $4,000 if scholar meets all program requirements and pending regular budgetary and progress meetings upheld with mentors regarding proposed project.

Application Instructions: All Resident Global Health Scholar applications must be submitted through our online application system by the April 1, 2021 deadline. Two letters of support are to be entered in the online application system and letter writers are to submit their letters by the April 15, 2021 deadline. The two letters must come from the (1) Applicant’s Residency Program Director indicating approval to be in the two-year program, and (2) Faculty PI or mentor involved in the applicant’s proposed project.  Read below and access the application link through our website.
