Matthew Laughon, MD
We are pleased to announce that, Dr. Matt Laughon began his tenure as Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs on July 1, 2022, serving as the Chair’s designate for one of the most important parts of the academic pediatric enterprise.   Matt brings a wealth of research, grant proposal development, and clinical trial experience to Faculty Affairs, and has spent the past several months working with the Terry Noah and the Faculty Affairs team to familiarize himself with the intricacies of appointments, promotions, and tenure.  We are excited to work with Matt and to witness his enthusiastic commitment to the growth and development of faculty in the Department of Pediatrics.

For 11 years, Terry Noah has been the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics. He worked tirelessly and with shrewd wisdom to advance faculty appointments and promotions through the School of Medicine and the university.  Among many other responsibilities, he has shepherded the department’s mentoring program, developed new MD and PhD compensation plans, and pushed for greater faculty wellbeing resources.  Fairness, collegiality, and openness are central to Dr. Noah’s approach to all aspects of his leadership roles throughout his career. We thank Terry for his years of fiercely dedicated advocacy for pediatrics faculty.
