About the Award
This award, funded through IQVIA and administered in partnership with the UNC Children’s Research Institute, is designed to advance the development of physician-scientists focused on children’s health through clinical and translational research. About Dr. Andre Espaillat
Dr. Espaillat is an early-career faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at UNC, where his work focuses on respiratory health and conditions such as asthma in children. His research has explored important topics including social determinants of health in pediatric asthma and approaches to improving clinical research methods in pulmonary disease.
The IQVIA award will support Dr. Espaillat’s continued efforts to advance evidence-based care and expand research capacity within the Department of Pediatrics. In addition to fostering innovative research, the program emphasizes mentorship and training opportunities for trainees and early-stage investigators across the department.
