Congratulations to Dr. Colin Orr! Dr.Orr has been selected to receive the 2022-23 James Woods Junior Faculty Award. The selection committee members were very impressed with his proposal to develop a novel peer support intervention to address food insecurity and consequently type 2 diabetes in children in the Hispanic population. They noted the importance of his research, growing reputation, exemplary work as a physician-scientist and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. We are truly honored that Dr. Orr is a member of the Pediatrics family and faculty.
The James Woods Junior Faculty Award supports promising young members of the medical school’s clinical faculty early in their academic career. It is an important achievement and demonstrates the high respect that your colleagues hold for the recipients. In addition to prestige and recognition of this award, Dr. Orr will receive a monetary award of $3,000 to support scholarly endeavors.
