Paul Shea, MD was promoted to Professor of Pediatrics effective May 1, 2026. Dr. Shea has been a faculty member in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine since 2016. Dr. Shea received his medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at St Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He was a Clinical Fellow at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. Currently, Dr. Shea is the Director of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program and the Curriculum Representative for Simulation, Experiential Learning and Training for the UNC School of Medicine.
