Jacquelyn Baskin-Miller, MD was promoted to Professor of Pediatrics effective April 1, 2025. Dr. Baskin-Miller has been a faculty member in Pediatrics since 2019. Dr. Baskin-Miller received a BS in Biological Sciences and Foreign Languages and Literature from MIT in Cambridge, MA in June 2000 and earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY in June 2004. She completed her Pediatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in June 2007. Dr. Baskin then completed a fellowship in Pediatric hematology-oncology at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in June 2011. She subsequently served an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California before joining us at UNC.

Her primary research interests are centered on strategies to improve health care delivery to patients with benign hematologic conditions, particularly hemoglobinopathies, as well as health disparities, access to care, and health services research as it relates to children with hematologic illnesses, both locally and internationally. Her current research focuses on interventions to improve the transition process for patients with rare blood disorders, such as sickle cell disease, as they move from a pediatric centered care environment to adult health care facilities.
