Adriana Herrera, MD, MPH

Adriana Herrera, MD, MPH was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics effective December 1, 2025. Dr. Herrera has been faculty in the division of Hospital Pediatrics since 2021. She received a BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University in 2008 and her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in 2013. She also received her MPH from the University of Illinois School of Public Health in 2013. Dr. Herrera completed her pediatric and internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago in 2017 and went on to complete a fellowship in global health at the University of Florida, Port au Prince, Haiti in 2018. Dr. Herrera worked as a pediatric hospitalist at Kapi’Olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, Hawaii before joining us at UNC.
