Pediatric Cardiology offers modern, comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with known or suspected heart disease. Providers offer consultations, comprehensive diagnostics, and therapeutic services for unborn babies, infants, children and adolescents with cardiac conditions. Care is delivered in Chapel Hill as well as convenient clinics located throughout the state. Specialists provide cardiac services via a network of outpatient clinics extending across North Carolina. Elisabeth Leong Promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Elisabeth Leong, DO, MSCR was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics effective December 1, 2024. Dr. Leong has been a faculty member in Pediatric Cardiology since 2014. Congratulations!

Shea Promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Ryan Shea, MD was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics effective November 1, 2024. Dr. Shea has been a faculty member in Pediatric Cardiology since 2016. Congratulations!

Johnston Promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Pace Johnston, MD was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics effective August 1, 2024. Dr. Johnston has been a faculty member in Pediatrics since July 2019. Dr. Johnston received a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta in July 2008 and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in May 2012. He completed his Pediatric Residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine in June 2015. A cardiology fellowship was completed at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in June 2018 and he completed an advanced cardiac imaging fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in June 2019. Founded in 2006, the Academy of Educators is designed to emphasize teaching and support faculty development both in Chapel Hill and across the state.
