Dr. Smeekens joined the Department of Pediatrics as faculty in the Division of Allergy-Immunology on July 26, 2021. Dr. Smeekens received her PhD in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017.

Michelle Hernandez, MD, Division of Allergy-Immunology, was promoted to Professor of Pediatrics effective July 16, 2021. Dr. Hernandez has been a faculty member in Pediatric Allergy-Immunology since 2007.

The Department of Pediatrics is excited to announce that, effective July 16, 2021, Edwin Kim MD is our new Division Chief of Pediatric Allergy-Immunology.

Tim Moran, MD, PhD, Division of Allergy-Immunology, was promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatrics as of May 1, 2021. Dr. Moran has been a faculty member in Pediatric Allergy/Immunology since 2015.

Anusha Penumarti, PhD, Division of Allergy-Immunology, was promoted to Assistant Professor of Pediatrics effective May 1, 2021. Dr. Penumarti has been an Instructor in Pediatric Allergy/Immunology since 2014.
