About

Dr. Goralski is a physician-scientist with a joint appointment in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology. One of only a few physicians nationally board-certified in adult and pediatric pulmonary medicine, she targets her practice to the care of people with cystic fibrosis throughout the entire lifespan. She serves as the Associate Director for the UNC Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center.

Dr. Goralski’s research interests include exploring novel imaging outcome markers for cystic fibrosis, particularly fluorine-enhanced MRI. She has had continuous funding since 2012 for her investigator-initiated research and professional development through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She is a recent NHLBI K23 awardee for her study of “Quantitation and Spatial Registration of Airways Disease with Dynamic 19F MRI”. She is a strong partner in Team Science, working with investigators in Radiology, Biomedical Engineering, and Psychiatry, among others. She is also active in many clinical research studies through the CF Therapeutics Development Network and is currently serving as the National PI for a multisite study exploring safety and efficacy of a novel therapeutic agent for children with CF, ages 2-5.
