A research program of the North Carolina Psychiatric Research Center (NCPRC)

COREC focuses on outcomes and program evaluation, quality improvement, and intervention research. Our goal is to support the mission of the Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to better the lives of people living with mental illnesses in North Carolina and beyond.

COREC is committed to three main areas:

  • Research Intervention to improve the lives of people living with mental illnesses, especially those who are involved with criminal justice system and/or have chronic physical health conditions;
  • Technical Assistance Infrastructure development to support the Center’s statewide technical assistance efforts; and,
  • Program Evaluation Ongoing support for program evaluation and quality assurance for Center’s programs through timely data collection, analysis, and reporting
