Summary Statement:
Candice Givens is a dually licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate. Ms. Givens has experience working with adults diagnosed with a wide range of mental health and/or substance use disorders across the lifespan.
In her previous roles, she has served as a crisis counselor for working professionals, assisting with conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and the development of coping skills for various life events including grief and loss, stress, anxiety, and trauma. Additionally, Candice has served as an advocate and liaison for the intersection of mental and physical health in healthcare settings, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary teams when addressing patient needs.
Candice’s therapeutic techniques embody a person-in-environment and strengths-based approach while utilizing motivational interviewing; narrative and cognitive behavioral therapy; and solution-focused techniques. She enjoys serving a diverse client base and is interested in exploring the impacts of intergenerational trauma on family systems.
