Summary Statement:
Dr. Gala was born and raised in upstate New York. After completing training in General Surgery, he practiced in rural North Carolina for a number of years. He subsequently completed a General Psychiatry Residency at UNC and joined the faculty in 2006. He is co-Director of the UNC Philosophical Issues in Psychiatry Reading Research Group and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs of the Department.
