Patients may have the opportunity to participate in research on the unit. Participation is completely voluntary and has no bearing on patients’ clinical care. Current research studies relate to suicide prevention and biological indicators of mental health risk. The PPIU offers a unique setting to conduct this important research, which will help to improve perinatal mental healthcare.
