North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center

Daniel Blandon-Hendrix, ACNP-BC/FNP-C

Manager, Advanced Practice Providers

Department of Surgery

Why did you choose burn surgery?

A burn is one of the painful injuries a person can suffer. It many cases, it is a scary time for both the patient and their families. Being there to not only help them recover from their injury, but support them along the way is one of the most rewarding things I can imagine.

What is your philosophy of care or approach to patient care?

Always remember the person you are caring for. It can be easy to get wrapped up in the details; the lab values, the x-rays, the machines, but remembering that all of these things lead to a person is essential.

Always bring your A game. Our patients deserve our undivided attention. Like everyone, there are many things happening in my life at any given moment. But when I walk through the doors of the Burn Center, I have to do everything in my power to leave all that behind and be 100% there for my patients.
