The research project is titled, “Using multi-modal methods to advance translational geroscience in patients with sarcopenia.”

Dr. John Batsis is Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine (School of Medicine), and a TARC Affiliated Faculty member.

He is PI for this project, and will collaborate with UNC colleagues Jason Franz, PhD, Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering; Daniel Nissman, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology; and Susan Sumner, PhD Professor of Nutrition.

TraCS Team Science assists UNC researchers with the formation and development of multidisciplinary research teams focused on tackling challenging problems in clinical or translational medicine through the ACTeR Program. Support is provided through a combination of competitively reviewed graduated direct funding and logistical support awarded in two phases.
