The award recognizes continuous demonstrated excellence over a number of years of service to the broad public health community.

Dr. Todd Schwartz, an Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the UNC Gillings School of Public Health, works collaboratively with the UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center, and is Co-Director of its NIAMS-funded Methodology Core.  We invite you to learn more about Dr. Schwartz and his innovative research here.

About the award:

The Bernard G. Greenberg Alumni Endowment Award was established in 1986 by the School’s Alumni Association in honor of Bernard Greenberg, PhD, a visionary leader who founded the Department of Biostatistics in 1949 which he led for more than 20 years before going on to serve as dean of the School of Public Health from 1972-1982.

The award is presented to an outstanding full-time faculty member of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health for excellence in the areas of teaching, research and service.
