The award is presented to the top junior biology major based on academic & research excellence, and contributions to the Biology Department.
Ralph Alberto will receive the award during the upcoming Chancellor’s Award Ceremony, held virtually this semester.
“I have really enjoyed working with Ralph on his basic osteoarthritis research project,” said Dr. Richard Loeser, Director of the UNC Thurston Arthritis Research Center, and Joseph P. Archie, Jr. Eminent Professor of Medicine, in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology. “He is a fantastic student and very deserving of this award.”
