This is the first didactic research paper to apply joint modelling in Rheumatology.

The results of the research, published in Arthritis Care & Research, illustrate the methodological advantages of Joint Modelling for analyzing such dynamic measures in a longitudinal study.

Data from the Johnston County Osteoarthritis Project (JoCo OA) were used as an example to investigate the relationship between the change in body mass index (BMI) measured repeatedly over time and the time-to-event endpoint of incident worsening of radiographic knee OA (osteoarthritis).
