TTP works with employers to help their employees live a tobacco-free lifestyle. Current programs include Tobacco Free Tarheels for UNC Health Care System employees and Wellness@Work for employees of the Town of Chapel Hill.

Tobacco Free Tar Heels is a free tobacco use treatment program for UNC Health Care employees and their covered dependents. The program is sponsored by UNC Health Care and provided by the UNC Nicotine Dependence Program. Participants receive an initial assessment, treatment plan, weekly follow-up, and up to three months of tobacco cessation medication.

The Tobacco Free Tarheels program has received many awards for providing the highest standard of excellence for tobacco cessation programs offered to employees. Click here to read success stories from Tobacco Free Tarheels participants.

UNC Healthcare team building exercise

Wellness@Work is a comprehensive wellness program for employees of the Town of Chapel Hill. The program is a partnership between UNC Health Care Department of Family Medicine and the Town of Chapel Hill. The Wellness@Work tobacco cessation program component is FREE for employees participating in the BCBS health plan and includes:

  • Individual treatment plan developed with Charlie Sapp, UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist at the Employee Wellness Clinic
  • Regular follow-up support for 3 months
  • $100 gift card after being tobacco free for 6 months PLUS $100 gift card after being tobacco free for 12 months
