The UNC AIDS Clinical Trials Group is a multi-faceted research organization comprised of a number of distinct research groups. These groups differ in research focus, undertaking studies to tackle the HIV problem from a number of fronts: the AIDS Clinical Trials unit investigates treatment options for subjects that are HIV positive, the HIV Vaccine Trials Network investigates potential vaccine candidates in non-infected subjects, and the Prevention Trials Network investigates ways to minimize the transmission risk of HIV.
