The rapidly advancing field of mindfulness-related research, including studies carried out here at UNC, is proving that training in mindfulness can help us better manage stress and can benefit a range of conditions such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and stress-related illnesses.

For fifteen years the UNC Mindfulness Program has offered mindfulness training to hundreds of patients, employees, and members of the community. In 2010 we initiated the Mindfulness Scholarship Fund to increase program access to individuals for whom there are financial barriers. Based on generous contributions, in 2011-2015 we have been able to offer partial scholarships to scores of people — approximately one in each class. In the coming year, we would like to significantly increase both the number of scholarships to meet the many requests from students and patients who are searching for affordable options for mind-body treatments.

Please consider making a tax deductible contribution to the Mindfulness Scholarship Fund. Your support could make a life-changing difference for an individual who could greatly benefit from this program.
