On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the global community celebrated the 2nd World Day of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. UNC’s Division of Regional Anesthesia came together with institutions worldwide, united in their mission to advance global pain relief through local and virtual events.
For the second year, the UNC Department of Anesthesiology was honored to participate in this live-streamed virtual program hosted on the ASRA’s YouTube channel (click HERE to view). As an exceptional leader in live casting and a technical expert in multimedia streaming, Professor of Anesthesiology and Director of Regional Anesthesia Stuart Grant, MB ChB, moderated the event while UNC Regional Anesthesia division faculty (Drs. Monika Nanda, Bryant Tran, Samantha Gottlieb, and Daniel Morgenstern) demonstrated live-stream scanning techniques for nerve blocks. Coordinating moderation and hands-on demos provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase the strength of UNC’s Regional Anesthesia division in both training and clinical services. Dr. Grant expertly moderated the event from the beginning, and the rest of the UNC faculty joined at the 3-hour, 17-minute mark for hands-on demonstrations and to contribute to live-stream discussion.
UNC’s Regional Anesthesia team received great engagement and feedback from peers worldwide for their planning efforts and contributions to this evolving event in its second year.
