UNC Anesthesiology congratulates Associate Program Coordinator Haylee Shomo for graduating as one of six participants in the inaugural cohort of UNC Hospitals’ GME Leadership Academy. In March 2025, Ms. Shomo and five other Leadership Academy graduates celebrated the culmination of a transformative leadership development journey that equipped participants from UNC School of Medicine and UNC Adams School of Dentistry with the skills and insights necessary to enhance their roles and impact on graduate medical education within their respective departments at UNC.

The Leadership Academy included interactive sessions, mentorship, and real-world application aimed at fostering leadership engagement, collaboration, and professional growth among residency and fellowship coordinators across UNC Hospitals and UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
