Tech: Treva Romero (submitted anonymously): “Although he wasn’t assigned to the OR I was working in, he made himself available several times during the day, including helping me move the anesthesia machine & Pyxis. He was especially helpful with troubleshooting the ACT machine, helping me get logged in, and checking back in to ensure everything was working as it should during the case. Treva always seems to offer a helping hand or serve as a point of contact if I have questions or case needs; however, today he was especially helpful. Thank you!”
CRNA: David Kilduff, nominated by Michael Hart: “When on call with Dave at Holly Springs, an emergent C-section came in while another Main OR case was underway. He, without hesitation, effectively and efficiently managed the complex and tricky C-section. His actions and expert care helped save her and her baby’s lives.”
Resident: Nick Miller nominated by Joshua Kaltman: ” Nick voluntarily stayed late to help the regional team on a day that they were short staffed. He consistently comes in with a Star Heel attitude and is always so helpful.”
Fellow: Brian Potocnik nominated by Jeremy Armbruster: “I had car issues and Brian went out of his way to give me a ride to get the issue fixed. Thanks Brian!”
Faculty: Sam Blacker (nominated by Rob Isaak): “We had a faculty member unfortunately call out sick and unable to teach a simulation session. Sam was ADM* that day and without any hesitation agreed to jump in and help lead the SIM session. Sam is always willing to lend a hand, especially when it comes to teaching and resident education. Sam is a very valued member of the SIM team!!”
