UNC Anesthesiology is delighted to announce Associate Professor Christine McKenzie, MD has been named the department’s Medical Director for Obstetric Anesthesia Services, effective September 1st. Dr. McKenzie’s leadership is vital to several major areas, among them: 1) Clinical Services – Point of contact for day-to-day obstetric anesthesia clinical issues; 2) Quality and Safety – Leading OB anesthesia contributions to hospital-wide QI initiatives (e.g., maternal hemorrhage, hypertension; and 3) Interdepartmental Collaboration – Liaise regularly with OB, nursing, and NICU leadership to coordinate workflows and safety protocols.
