The Center for Animal MRI (CAMRI) at the BRIC received a $2M award from NIH High-End-Instrumentation program. This award will be used to purchase a new 9.4T-20cm MRI system from Burker Biospin.

Researchers led by Zibo Li, PhD, said their findings could make it possible to attach radioactive tags to compounds that previously have been difficult or even impossible to label.
The 2019 Triangle Imaging Symposium at UNC BRIC, will feature lectures by speakers from Johns Hopkins, UNC, Duke, NCSU and Wake Forest University and is open to the entire scientific community. The Symposium also includes a Poster Session with presentations given by students, trainees, residents, and faculty to highlight imaging research projects within and outside UNC. The symposium will take place on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 beginning at 8:30 am in the Bioinformatics building, room 1131. Breakfast and lunch will be served for those who register in advance!

Gabriel Dichter, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry in the UNC School of Medicine and adjunct associate professor of psychology and neuroscience in the UNC College of Arts and Sciences, is the principal investigator of a 5-year $2.5-million award as part of the Experimental Therapeutics Initiative of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
Dr. Louise Henderson, associate professor of radiology, and Dr. Ian Shih, associate professor of neurology and director of the Small Animal MRI facility at BRIC, were named as recipients of the third annual Yang Family Biomedical Scholars Award.
