The small animal DEXA system in the SAI facility is a desk top x-ray scanner that can be used to determine changes in body composition or bone density on small rodents. The scan can be quick and easy, great for longitudinal live animal study. The system is conveniently located within the Marsico Hall vivarium. The facility provides staff-supported or user-operated imaging service. Users can be trained for self-operated imaging experiments. Detailed information about the DEXA can be found by following this link.
