Edward Bahnson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery, and Department of Cell Biology and Physiology has been elected to the Council of the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (SfRBM) to serve from 2018-2022. The Council is the governing body of the Society. SfRBM, established in 1987, is a professional organization comprised of scientists and clinicians investigating redox biology, a unifying theme in the pathophysiology of human diseases. The society promotes the study of the chemistry and biochemistry of reactive species and their consequences in biology and medicine, and the transfer of basic knowledge to the health professions. Additionally, SfRBM is  SfRBM is a member society of Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) and at the international level, SfRBM represents the Americas within the International Society for Free Radica Research (SFRRI).
