On Feb 8th, the Age Based Genomic Screening team engaged with over 100 residents in the city of Durham, NC at the Bull City in Black: HBCU Showcase hosted by 100 Black Men (Triangle East Chapter), Durham Success Submit, the City of Durham, and the Emily K Center ! We loved hearing about everyone’s knowledge and opinions of genetic screening and genomic medicine and research as well as answering questions about our project. The event also showcased and celebrated the history and enduring legacy of historically black colleges and universities from across the state and region as well as hosted workshops covering topics such as financial literacy, FAFSA assistance, ACT test preparation, and more!
