Adam PfefferleDr. Adam Pfefferle was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics, effective March 1, 2022.

Dr. Pfefferle earned a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from UNC Chapel Hill (2006), a M.Eng. degree in Materials Science from North Carolina State University (2014) and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from UNC Chapel Hill (2015).  Dr. Pfefferle served as a postdoctoral fellow in 2015-2017 and a Research Scientist in 2017-2019 in the laboratory of Dr. Mike Ramsey in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC).  Dr. Pfefferle was appointed as the Facility Director for the UNC LCCC Translational Genomics Lab (TGL) in 2019.  The TGL employs highly-automated, as well as manual platforms for reproducible medium-throughput nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, and next-generation sequencing of tissue, cells, and blood samples.
