Dr. Jeremy Purvis (Associate Professor, Genetics) was awarded an R01 grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) for his proposal titled “Computational Models of the Human Cell Cycle to Reveal Disease Mechanism and Inform Treatment”. A cross-institutional team will combine genomic profiling with neural network-based image analysis to identify the mechanism by which cells sustain a pluripotent cell cycle program over multiple cell-cycle generations. All aims yields both basic and applied knowledge, providing fundamental insights into cell cycle progress under perturbation and generating specific, molecular predictions to inform new treatment schemes.
