Jeremy Simon, PhD

Dr. Jeremy Simon was promoted to Associate Professor, effective March 1, 2022.

Dr. Simon received his B.S. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from University at Buffalo (NY) in 2008 followed by his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013.  Dr. Simon served as a Research Associate (2014-2016) and was appointed Research Assistant Professor in 2016, both in the Department of Genetics at UNC Chapel Hill. At UNC, Dr. Simon has focused on team science and has collaborated with more than 30 laboratories internally and externally to offer his expertise in design, execution, analysis and biological interpretation of high-throughput sequencing-based studies.  He currently serves as one of the principals of the Bioinformatics and Analytics Research Collaborative (BARC) core.
