The Department of Allied Health Sciences recognized its clinical preceptors during its annual clinical preceptor appreciation event, held at The Carolina Club.
The Department of Allied Health Sciences held its annual Clinical Preceptor Appreciation Event on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at The Carolina Club on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.
More than 100 clinical preceptors enjoyed breakfast and fellowship with DAHS faculty. This annual retreat serves to thank our clinical preceptors for their dedicated service to more than 400 allied health students in clinical settings across the state.
The event featured a keynote address, titled “Ethical Action in Challenging Times,” delivered by Kim Strom-Gottfried, MSW, PhD. Stephen R. Hooper, PhD, and Brenda Mitchell, PhD, provided welcoming remarks. Professor Joy Renner introduced the speaker. The delivery of the keynote message was well received by the audience and comments such as “best ever” were heard repeatedly by the organizers.
After the keynote address, representatives of all seven Department of Allied Health Sciences divisions separated into small groups to discuss topics pertinent to their area of health care.
