SUDDEN Project
SUDDEN is a research program investigating out-of-hospital sudden unexpected death (OHSUD) in adults ages 18-64. OHSUD accounts for over 10% of deaths among working age adults. SUDDEN aims to better understand such deaths so that pathways to prevention can be developed.
Our Mission
- Teaching & Career Development: To grow and nurture students and young researchers through multidisciplinary mentorship and hands on experience with data science and epidemiological research.
- Research: To investigate the causes of sudden death using epidemiological methods. Explore the social and demographic factors contributing to sudden unexpected death in a manner that highlights inequities and injustice in health care.
- Prevention: To bring sustainable intervention including legislation and public policy and changes in clinical practice based on our research findings.
