About

LaKeshia Neal, a native North Carolinian, has dedicated more than 20 years of service to UNC Health.

At UNC Hospitals, she worked as an inpatient nurse in Women’s Services and Surgical Services (PACU). For 13 years, she served in the Care Management Department, 10 of those years as a manager leading a team of nurse care managers and social workers across inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently, LaKeshia served in UNC Faculty Physicians as a Nurse Coordinator with UNC Maternal Fetal Medicine – Raleigh, where she helped expand nurse telehealth for diabetes co-management and also staffed in the ambulatory clinic.

Before transitioning into nursing, LaKeshia earned a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and worked as an Environmental Scientist / Site Manager with a private engineering consulting firm. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University. She is also a certified Accredited Case Manager – Registered Nurse (ACM-RN).

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, spa experiences, fine dining, and traveling.
