Physician Assistant
About
I believe that the care that we give to the patient and their families should be at the heart of all we do as providers. Listening is the most important skill we can have, and compassion/empathy is the most important trait we can give.
I have been a physician assistant for over 25 years, and the majority of my career has been spent in oncology. I have a particular affinity for treating and understanding heme malignancies. One of the wonderful things about being a physician assistant is the ability to move to different specialties in medicine. I have also worked in general surgery and, most recently, in family medicine and urgent care. When I moved to this area from Asheville in 2021, I wanted to try my hand at something different and thus found employment in family medicine and urgent care. I was looking at the UNC website and saw the opening on the multiple myeloma team and oncology just called back out to me. I love the caring nature of the teams in oncology and feeling like I am doing something meaningful each day. I am happy to be a part of this great team.
Outside of work I enjoy hiking, knitting, reading, travelling, and spending time with family, friends and our dogs.
