The North Carolina Chapter of the American College of Cardiology awarded UNC cardiologists Thelsa Weickert, MD, George (Rick) Stouffer, MD, and Alan Hinderliter, MD, with a grant for their project, “Expanding Echocardiography Access for Underserved Populations in Central North Carolina”.
The award has the goal to fund a project focused on reducing cardiovascular health disparities in the state of North Carolina. This is for a one-year grant, with potential for renewal, in a competitive process. The Chapter presented the award to Dr. Weickert at the NC & SC Chapters of the ACC 32nd Annual Conference on September 19-21 in Asheville, NC.
