During this year’s Pearls Day, medical students gathered to listen to educators speak on topics or issues they may face after graduation. Speakers for the event are selected by the graduating students as an honor. Kunal Patel, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine was chosen to be a presenter.

Dr. Patel also received the Leonard Tow Humanism Award from the Alfred P Gold Foundation. This award honors one faculty member, selected by the graduating class, who integrates humanism into the delivery of care to patients and their families.
