
In a recently published book, Drs. Christina Shenvi (UNC Emergency Medicine Associate Professor) and Brittany Ellis (University of Saskatchewan) cover key topics on geriatric emergency medicine. Other content contributors from UNC Emergency Medicine include Drs. Daniel Markwalter, Martin Casey, and Susie Kennedy.
The book covers topics like emergency department (ED) workup of falls in older adults, evaluation of frailty, team-based care, and others. It also highlights topics like mental health emergencies in the elderly, elder abuse, ED boarding and geriatric patients, and deprescribing.
Dr. Shenvi says, “We gathered expert authors from around the U.S. and Canada to write articles on core topics such as falls, head injury, and medication management.”
