Advanced Care at Home (ACH) announced Patrick O’Shea, MD, MBA, has been appointed as Medical Director. ACH provides high-quality, acute-level care to patients receiving in the comfort of their home. This is an alternative form of care for some ‘sick but stable’ patients who would typically be admitted to the hospital to treat immediate medical needs. Instead, a person’s medical needs are observed and addressed with a combination of 24/7 virtual and in-person care, all coordinated by a care team from UNC Health.

Dr. O’Shea has been a long-standing advocate for the Hospital at Home program, supporting its development from the beginning. He is an assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine and currently practices as a hospitalist and physician advisor at UNC Hospitals.
