Kenton Dover, MD, a fellow in the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine, created a children’s book with his son Levi, for families of healthcare workers.
The book introduces a series of questions that a young child may ask in order to understand why a parent’s job requires more time away, compared to other careers. He says the pandemic is not what inspired book but it did make the project more important in this WRAL.com interview.
Dover wrote two versions, “Where did Mommy Go?” and “Where did Daddy Go?,” specifically with the children of healthcare workers in mind. All proceeds from the sale of the books will go toward local coronavirus relief efforts.
