The UNC Core Center for Clinical Research (CCCR) was recently awarded 5-year renewal funding from NIH/NIAMS. The renewed CCCR will be led by co-PIs Amanda E. Nelson, MD, MSCR, RhMSUS, and Leigh F. Callahan, PhD.

The overall goal of the UNC CCCR is to provide state-of-the-art resources and a rich environment to optimize clinical studies in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) to advance clinical care and public health efforts targeted toward individuals with RMDs.

The updated Resource Core, also directed by Dr. Nelson, will build upon the groundwork that TARC has laid over the past 5 years to better understand heterogeneity in both disease and treatment response. By developing and utilizing a larger, more representative dataset, the Resource Core will provide invaluable service to its research community and to early career investigators. Services from both Cores are available for consultation and collaboration.
