Our lab studies genetic and environmental risks for autism. In addition, we study molecular and brain mechanisms that underlie pain sensation. Research includes use of CRISPR/Cas, AAV gene therapy vectors, single cell RNA-seq, molecular biology and behavior. Our long-term goal is to uncover new treatments for chronic pain and neurodevelopmental disorders, like autism and Angelman syndrome. Opioids, strobilurin fungicides, azoxystrobin, PFOA, PFAS, zinc finger nucleases, Cas9, macrophages, collaborative cross mice, Chd8, Ube3a, PainFace, mouse grimace scale, machine learning.
