Our research focuses on how environmental exposures and immune regulatory pathways contribute to the pathogenesis of allergic diseases, including asthma and food allergy. We are particularly interested in how exposures to pollutants and microbial-derived immunostimulatory agents modulate innate and adaptive immune responses at epithelial surfaces to promote allergic sensitization. In parallel, we seek to define the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving allergic responses to foods and environmental antigens. Ultimately, we aim to leverage these mechanistic insights to improve therapeutic strategies for food allergy, including the rational use of mucosal adjuvants to enhance the efficacy and durability of sublingual immunotherapy for food tolerance induction.
