Dr. Brisley is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Post-residency, he co-founded the Vistar Eye Center in Roanoke, VA, where he served as Managing Partner for 20 years and practiced for over three decades. During this time, he also served as Medical Director of Roanoke Valley Center for Sight for five years.  Dr. Brisley’s clinical interest include comprehensive eyecare, the medical and laser management of glaucoma, as well as laser surgery for secondary cataracts. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Phi Beta Kappa, and Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Brisley is a long-time Tar Heel. He received both his undergraduate (BA – Chemistry, Economics) and medical degrees at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at UNC Hospitals.  Upon completing his residency in 1992, Dr. Brisley entered private practice in Roanoke, VA, where he helped to found Vistar Eye Center. Dr. Brisley practiced as a cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist for many years before limiting his practice to comprehensive eyecare. During his time with Vistar, he served as Managing Partner for 20 years.

Dr. Brisley  is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina.  He enjoys snow skiing, golf, tennis, cycling, hiking, and attending UNC sporting events. He lives locally with his wife, and they have three adult children.
