We are very proud of our own Dr. Adrienne Cox, professor of radiation oncology and pharmacology and head of Radiation Oncology’s Division of Cancer Biology, for her receipt of a prestigious UNC Mentor Award for Lifetime Achievement. This award is given to those who have devoted a significant part of their academic careers to mentoring, helping students achieve their full potentials both during their training at UNC and beyond.

The award, established in 1997, had as its first recipient famed UNC men’s basketball coach Dean Smith, which is why Dr. Cox had the opportunity to attend and be recognized by a sell-out crowd of UNC basketball fans at the March 3, 2020 game between the Tar Heels and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. (UNC won, 93-83. ?)

Congratulations, Dr. Cox – well done!
