| Rising 3rd year resident Dr. Shivani Sud and her faculty advisor physician-scientist Dr. Gaorav Gupta received recognition recently from the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center for their research into a simplified screening test for cervical cancer.
The test, based on a simple blood or urine sample, detects the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) the major cause of cervical cancer worldwide. Read more about this new research and its potential HERE. This pilot study is funded in part by a Lineberger seed grant award to Dr. Sud. |
