Congratulations to radiation oncology second-year resident Dr. Shivani Sud for her receipt of not one, but two, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center development grants in support of her research on the treatment of cervical cancer.
The first award, “Application of circulating HPV DNA testing to management of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia” is in collaboration with her faculty mentor, radiation oncology physician-scientist Dr. Gaorav Gupta, and co-investigator Dr. Lisa Rahangdale, UNC Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The second, “The effects of short chain fatty acid supplementation on the quality of life and treatment-related toxicities in patients receiving definitive abdominopelvic radiotherapy: A randomized phase II study”, is in collaboration with her faculty mentor, radiation oncology physician-scientist Dr. Andrew Wang, and co-investigator Dr. Jenny Ting, UNC Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
